It was just a year ago, we were sending Bornday Wishes to US Army Combat veteran Mr. Willie Sneed of Mebane, NC.  He had been in-country (ROK) and participated in battle campaigns such as Heartbreak Ridge-Hill #931 & Bloody Ridge.  Every warrior partly returns home-stateside, wounded leaving suppressed memories of the battlefield behind.  We are providing the family’s announcement below.

With all our deepest and heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, daughter and son-in-law for their great loss.

“It is with great sadness that I post my daddy, my hero, Mr. Willie Sneed, passed away, early Saturday morning, at 12:15 AM. My self, my mom, Sally Sneed, and my husband, Stephen Gerald O’Briant were by his side.   Daddy turned 94 years old on August 14th.  We are so blessed to have enjoyed his love, humor, and company for so many years.

We will be having a service at McClure’s Funeral Service, 1308 South Third Street, Mebane, NC 27302 starting at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 14, 2024.  There will not be a viewing.  The family will stay after the service to greet visitors.

God bless.  Jeanette Sneed O’Briant”
