Fall of SAIGON, official end to Vietnam War

April 30, 1975, final maneuvers of Operation Frequent Wind, the largest helicopter evac in history thus far, nears completion minutes before the PAVN overruns the US Embassy-Saigon, Officially ending the Vietnam War.
The last ground casualties known of the Vietnam war perished on April 29, 1975 were 2 US Marines assigned to the US Embassy MSG Saigon Det.
